Dec. 31st was the second foreign expert dinner for Luke and myself. It is a very formal event that brings some of the foreign teachers in Zhengzhou together to sit and eat with city officials. This year was very different because not only was it on New Years Eve, but also, I was invited to sit at the head table.
I sat between the vice mayor and someone else who had a very long title - both of which did not speak any English. It was pretty boring, but not bad. At the head table they actually served different food then at the other tables and it was really good.
The highlight of the night was when I was reading my menu and found that we were served 'Grilled American'. I am not sure which course it was, but I am sure that I enjoyed it. >.<
Overall it was a good night that ended pretty early. Here are some photos of the event.
